The Elephant’s Trunk Nebula
The Elephant’s Trunk Nebula (IC 1396 & vdB 142) is an emission nebula in the constellation Cepheus.
IC 1396 is actually quite large than what is seen in below photo. I tried to capture area centered on Elephant Trunk the dark feature near the center.
Shot on 24-June-2026 from Bortle 7 Sky of Airdrie, Alberta.

Fireworks Galaxy (NGC 6946)
Spiral galaxy NGC 6946, also known as the Fireworks Galaxy, is about 22.5 million light-years away and lies on the border of constellations Cepheus and Cygnus. Open cluster 6939 (upper right) is approximately 5,000 light-years away in the constellation Cepheus.
